Clair Joseph Brucker, Jr.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, Clair Joseph Brucker, Jr., age 90,  entered Eternal Life at home in New Castle, PA, with his wife by his side. He was born July 23, 1936, in Pittsburgh (Shaler), PA, to Clair and Helen (Wokutch) Brucker.

Throughout his life, he was known for a strong work ethic, a steady dedication to home improvement projects, and the meticulous care he gave to his lawn and garden. Those who knew him recognized the pride he took in tending to the things entrusted to his hands, both at work and at home.

Clair’s working years reflected that same commitment. Over time, he was employed by Neville Chemical and Eazor Express, and he later retired from Preston Trucking. He was a Teamster member of Local 261. His professional life was marked by diligence and reliability, qualities that remained a defining part of how he lived.

He was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. In the life he built over the years, Clair will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

At the center of his life was his family. He shared 66 years of marriage with his adoring wife, Dorothy Jean (Sobula) Brucker. Together, they built a family that includes their children, Bridget Brucker Shaginaw, Brenda (Bobby) Minor, Clair “CJ” (Lisa) Brucker, Sharon (Joe) Harrilla, and Shawn (Antoinette) Brucker. He is also remembered by his brother, Duane (Sandy) Brucker, and his brother-in-law, Wesley Violi. Clair’s family also includes 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 6 nephews and 2 nieces.

In addition to his parents, Clair was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Lee Brucker Violi, and great-niece, Morgan Jade Violi.

Per Clair’s request, there will be no immediate service. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Jameson Hospital in New Castle, PA, and to the team from Family Hospice, Part of UPMC, for their compassionate care and support.

Clair Joseph Brucker, Jr. will be remembered with love and gratitude for the life he shared with his family and for the enduring example of dedication he brought to his work, his home, and the care of those closest to him.
